On Leadership
Jesus showed us that you cannot just perform an act without then expressing why you had. The need may seem apparent but we as people we require expression for acceptance of change.
Good leadership cannot be mere demonstration. We go into existential crisis without any explanation of or help for things that go wrong in our lives and in the world.
Communion is built on Jesus' communication to us. It is a quiet practice to show appreciation for that which we continually value. We don't need to worry because we have prayed. Our prayers are heard and we are seen.
I need to prove that I have learned. I had been very nonverbal into my twenties. I know now that my perception of religion had been ceremony and nothing more. I love the ways I've struggled now because it was what God needed me to go through in order to grow. We're all ideas that God planted here on Earth.
Sometimes I'm afraid to share my thoughts with anyone for fear that if the people who listen to me do not really value me they will go unappreciated. "That's human" is my inclination but Jesus lets us go beyond our fear and express ourselves anyway.
I think that we're meant to speak. I was afraid to even think anymore for a long time because I had been lost. My behavior exhibited my lack of understanding and I am now home. I love that I can tell you I've earned my peace and will continue to lead my life according to the way God values me and not out of any fear of persecution. It's not for me to have all those deadly sins attached to my person anymore. I am free. I am loved. I will work at forgiveness more and more. Amen.
